PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a popular hand held video game console created by Sony Computer Entertainment. The system was released in Japan in 2004 and in North America in 2005. The PSP uses optical disc technology for the majority of its games and videos. It also has Wi-Fi capabilities allowing it access to a network on which gamers can play online games, browse the internet, connect to other PSP and PlayStation 3 systems, and even connect to the Skype internet phone service. It can also be used to play music and share photos. The system has enjoyed enormous success worldwide.
